WILLIAMS PROMISING IN FIA F3 TESTS

FIA F3

The 10 teams of the FIA F3 Championship met at the Red Bull Ring (A) on 3rd and 4th April 2021 for the first two official test days of the 2021 season. For Jenzer Motorsport drove Calan Williams (AUS), who already competed with us in the 2020 season, as well as newcomers Pierre-Louis Chovet (F) and Filip Ugran (ROM). Cold temperatures, alternating rain, snow and sunshine made the days demanding.

Cold temperatures, rain and sunshine greeted the field of 30 drivers on the first morning. Our drivers tested the functions of the powerful FIA F3 machines in which they were now sitting for the first time this season. Filip reached 18th time, Pierre-Louis was 20th and Calan was 25th. In the afternoon, the team tried out some different settings and then proceeded to traditional long runs. Calan claimed 13th place, Pierre-Louis was 21st and Filip was 26th.

On the second morning, snow fell and some of it even set in the run-off areas next to the track. But then the sun came out and despite the frosty temperatures the situation improved quickly. The qualifying simulation began immediately, and the 30 drivers all gave full throttle. Calan achieved it all in the best way, and he was quickest and topped the morning's results list. Pierre-Louis tried hard to do the same, but he went over track limits several times and his best times thus were deleted. This brought him to 25th place in the end. Filip improved steadily, and despite he got himself some lap times deleted too, he reached 23rd place. In the afternoon they all went back to business once more. Pierre-Louis now improved to 14th place, Calan was 17th and Filip was 22nd.
